Spring 2013 Photos

I have been wanting to take photos of my girls for a while now.  It is such a big production with three little ones, and Paul hates helping me!  He thinks it is stressful and doesn't like to yell, act like different animals, chase the kids around everywhere, and make a fool of himself at parks and such like I do on a weekly basis with other families.  I finally talked him into going with me to help out.  I have a totally different goal in mind when I am photographing my own children:  to get ONE, just one, good photo of them all.  When I am photographing other families, I try to give them about 30 good photos of their family.  I give a variety of ones of their kids, individual ones, family ones, lifestyle shots, etc.  With my own children, I am happy with just one :)  Well, our session was a success.  I got such good ones of my kids together, and even one of each of them separately.  I think Paul is happy to be off the hook for the next few months!

My VERY favorite photo of our girls to date!  Love that they are all smiling!  I believe Paul was sticking dandelions in my ears at this point and that's what got them to all look and smile for more than one second.  The things we will do for a photo... ;)

Love this of Ella and Hannah!  Ella is a little blown out from the sun, but I still love her with the flower :)

Paul was acting silly to the side at this point and the girls were all looking and laughing at him :)

Hannah.  They loved the dandelions.

Another favorite

And another favorite.  Love the joy and happiness in this photo.

Ella

Hailee

Hannah.  These three will all be hung somewhere together.

Love each of their faces here.  Very "them".

More laughter!

Hailee is so cute here!

And...the smiles started to get fake!  Still love this one though!

That's a wrap!  Off for ice cream for the good behavior by all...even Paul ;)

I ordered a gallery wrap of the first photo and it came yesterday.  Gallery wraps are a little pricey, but of so gorgeous!  I love that they don't need a frame!  This is a 16x20 and is perfect size for the space we wanted it in.
This is a phone photo, so isn't great.  This is the wrap on our wall, in front of our two windows.  I love how it all looks!

The wrap from the side.  The photo goes on to the sides and is why a frame isn't needed.

The wrap closer up.  LOVE!

Our two little two year olds!

Since our girls turned two, I have been dreading taking their photos.  I have said before and I'll say it again, that my own kids are thee toughest subjects to get good photographs of!  Kids always listen better for other adults and moms play a big part in getting good photos, so me trying to be the mom and photographer is not easy, to say the least.  One morning last week while Ella was at school I decided to conquer the task and get it done with.  No, I did not get an exceptional happy, smiley photos of my wild and crazy girls.  But, I did capture their sweet (rotten) personalities and now have some photos of them that will always remind me just who they are at this age.

The girls are so, so, so CUTE and funny lately.  They have conversations with each other all the time.  I don't know what they are saying (except for a few words here and there) but they talk and respond to each other as if they know exactly what the other is saying.  They hug each other, kiss each other (see below), and of course tease each other all the time.  Having twins at this age is really like nothing I would've ever imagined.  I feel that they share a bond like no other.  They are just so amazing and I love them to pieces.  Enjoy these photos of our two sweet, and ornery, two year olds!    *Note* Hailee in the blue and Hannah in the pink.

Busy Season

This business that I have of mine definitely has a busy and slow season.  Beginning of the year is somewhat slow (January-March), then she Spring and Summer months are steady (April-August), then the Fall (now) is VERY busy right up until about Christmas time!  Everyone wants those gorgeous Fall photos with lots of leaves, flowers changing, pumpkins, and photos ready for Christmas cards.  Beginning with tonight's session, I have two to three sessions per week through the end of October.  November is quickly starting to fill up as well.  I am not complaining what-so-ever.  I LOVE doing the actual photo shoots, love editing the photos, and especially love delivering the final product.  I will not, however, have much time for myself at all in the upcoming weeks.  The kiddos will have more than usual daddy time (not a bad thing), and they will all be fending for themselves for some dinners coming up (could be a bad thing :).  Anyways, expect fewer than normal blog posts until, well, probably sometime in December.  I am just hoping that I find the time to get my own kid's holiday photos done and our cards out before two days before Christmas like last year.  We will see!  I posted a link to my photography blog site and to my photography FaceBook page below.  Feel free to forward to friends and family that are also looking for Fall or holiday photos!

I did however, have a lovely time this past weekend.  One of my good friends got married in Kelley's Island.  Paul and I took the girls to my parent's to stay for the weekend while we were away.  Here are a few photos from the morning before we left for the island.  I didn't take my camera to the island, but posted the two that I took on my phone while we were there.

Hannah and Hailee love playing the piano!

Maybe one of them will be a musician? :)
